Program Tips

Get your school's program off to a "running start" with these helpful tips:

  • Be creative in communicating runner registration to your parents. Post flyers near office and carpool lines. Create QR codes that link to the runner registration page.

  • Communicate to your parents about race packets. If you receive approval to pick up packets (or if packets are being mailed to the school), be sure to communicate to parents when packets will be distributed.

  • Check your list of registered runners to ensure they attend your school.

  • Follow Get Ready to Run on Facebook and share posts from our page.

  • As you prepare your runners for the Fun Run, tag us in your pics. Use the hashtag #GR2RMS

Kick-off Ideas

Need some ideas for your event?

  • Plan a pep rally or school assembly, and invite a special guest to lead the students in their first lap.

  • Host a family fitness night with healthy snacks and physical activity challenges including a group run/lap.

  • Invite local high school sports team(s) to lead students in their first lap.

  • Announce program at a local high school sports event, and select 25-50 students to run the field/court with players.

  • Schedule a kick-off lap day with special guest runners.
