Story Board RulesPrint PDF Version

The Story Board is not required for students to participate in the Get Ready to Run School Program or the Get Ready to Run Kids’ One-Mile Fun Run, but is required for schools to be eligible for school awards.

  1. Each school competing for the Get Ready to Run School Program awards is required to submit a Story Board illustrating their school’s progress toward completing the program.
  2. Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi will provide each school with (1) blank board.
  3. The Story Board must be the school’s original work completed with watercolors, markers, crayons, colored pencils, photographs, or other media that will not smear and will leave the finished poster flat and easy to handle.
  4. Limit (1) Story Board per school.
  5. The Story Board should represent the theme “Get Ready to Run” and showcase pictures of activities related to the seven health lessons in the activity guide, the school lap day event and students running.
  6. The Story Boards will be collected from the school by a Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi representative. Schools will not be allowed to deliver their Story Boards.
  7. Judging criteria will be based on originality, clear presentation of the health message and creativity.
  8. The school with the Story Board representing the “Get Ready to Run” theme with the best health message will receive a $500 award for their school’s physical education program.
  9. The Story Boards will be displayed on race day, if weather permits.
